Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity was founded in May 1879 in New England. The Beta Pi chapter of Washington State University was founded in April 1916. Originally, there were eight pharmacy students, four medical students, and one faculty advisor. Currently only pharmacy students and pre-pharmacy students are eligible for membership. Today there are approximately 120 current members and one faculty advisor.

Our Beta Pi chapter is currently ranked number 10 nationally in all of the chapters of Kappa Psi. We have two elected officer seats in our province. Kappa Psi is involved in the community. We have community service activities that we perform. Some of our community service activities include helping to organize Health and Wellness week at WSU. We also have food drives, make hygiene kits, participate in walks/runs, and are actively involved with Adopt-A-highway where we have our own stretch of highway.
